News
I turned 30 two weeks ago, which was fairly uneventful despite all the worried phone calls inquiring after my psychological well-being. I have, to date, occupied my first year of my third decade with boring busy-ness, and have hardly seen Jer as he is being held captive at a trade show and forced to wear a bright red shirt (I am forbidden to take photos). Nevertheless, here are some notes:
1. I currently have the strangest reading list ever. My split-personality lit choices are:
a) Naked, by David Sedaris
b) A Series of Unfortunate Events, book the second, by Lemony Snicket
c) How to Manage a Non-Profit Organization in the Twenty-First Century, by Thomas Wolf
I am enjoying all three, just not all in the same day, thank you.
2. The new issue of The New Pollution is up. I'm playing photographer this round, and there is a very nice article by a rather tall man of my acquaintance about a Danish band who are good but very loud.
3. Two new (old) records getting a lot of play, now that the record player has new spangly wires that sound nice:
a) Cat Stevens, Teaser and the Firecat
b) Come Dancing with the Kinks, the Best of the Kinks 1977-1986
4. I don't know when I became this way, but I find laying out my thoughts in an ordered, numbered fashion quite pleasing.
5. I am planning on making several holiday treats. On the short list:
a) Mustard flavoured with Guinness
b) Spiced pear butter
c) Dill pickles
d) Cranberry-orange vinegar
e) Lemon-thyme vinegar
f) Pomegranate jelly
g) Tea jelly
h) Vanilla sugar
I'm accepting votes. Please vote, as you know that these projects tend to get out of control (need I post the photo of 200 cupcakes for the launch, or wedding cakes? Points to any of you who remember the story of the giant zucchini that almost killed me.)
There are other plans in the works, which believe me, I'd love to blog about to the point of tiring you, dear reader, but must keep mum for now. However,
a) a domain name has been registered
b) several proposals are being written
I know that the prospect of several proposals does not sound exciting, but trust me, it is.
That's it for now. More to come.
