coffee with a friend
Long coffees with friends. On this table: one glass of white wine; one gin & tonic; two coffees; one breakup; one trip to Europe; one conversation about human rights, legal precedent and relativism; a selection of musings on the nature of life, love and ambition; and the recipe for really good sweet potato quesadillas.

the party
Great party - glam theme, good dj, everyone in the garden drunk in their makeup. My camera was clearly drunk too, or on something, or, that may have been what the room really looked like...

snake flower
We closed my great-aunt's house, emptying out the last things: old photographs, furniture, boxes of clothes (I passed on her gold lame coat, but snagged a few of my great-uncle's ties), (top hats, ball gowns, and some 19th century fans), and, of course, the stupid clock in the kitchen that makes bird sounds on the hour. She always liked gardening, so I stole these from her garden. Snakeshead fritillary, not only because the buds are very reptilian, but the plant actually behaves like a snake: weaving and slinking through the day until the buds open into these bizarre, beautiful flowers. They are also known as the leper's lily, the deathbell, sullen ladies and widow's veil.

walking 2
There is something else I've been wanting to clear up: I am not a photographer. While the rest of my site is designed to highlight my professional abilities, this is here purely to have fun. Really, I just like walking around taking dumb pictures of things, like my peculiar glee at taking pictures of walking around.

OK. This is the predictable post where the blogger sheepishly apologizes for being rather terrible at maintaining daily tasks. My only excuse: I've been busy running around. Here's proof.
